Dreamer's Paradise is finally published! http://tinyurl.com/3ws3qy6

That leaves only one more short story to get its cover before it is published.

Dreamer's Paradise is about a young girl named Josie that meets a boy named Jimmy, who she thought was the best thing for her. Too stubborn to face reality, it took her two years to realize that it was either stay and suffer, or go and be alive. The trouble starts when she decides to walk away. The question now is how all of this will affect their daughter in the end.

She Rises at Dawn is a murder mystery about a female private detective in Chicago who is hired by the rich husband to find his wife. The wife has been missing for awhile and the detective believes she has seen her, but cannot catch-up with her.

Once the last one is published, I will be able to give more time (if I can find the time) to rewriting the big novels. I am finding it very hard to catch all the I and me or my to change. It will defiantly be one big proofreading headache. Will have to solicit several proofreaders to help out when the time comes.

We started talking about writing in class today. It is funny how they still can't put the apostrophe in their words that require one. it seems to be a teenager thing. Now the big thing is not capitalizing the word I.

I believe it is going to get worse now that practically every kid uses a phone to send text messages.  I have already seen the lol and even a rofl in the past few years.

Okay what about you?  Can you remember not to use text slang in your papers?

Leave us a comment below about what your thoughts on where writing is going. Some schools have stopped teaching handwriting, because of this computer age.

Until next time, have a great time.

John

Hope your week was a great one.  We had big problems in ours.

At work the computer network has a bad part making connections hard to get. Computer guys are working hard to try and make it work until a new part can be purchased and received.

On the writing front, I sent the one cover back asking that the background color be lighter so the words could show better.  I felt it was too dark even for a murder story.

I started back editing the big novel, now on page 55, a slow process for sure.

Still need to find time for editing, as it seems that I no more than get started and it is time for bed.  Not into the swing of a schedule since going back to work, even though this is week two.

And now football is starting, so that will be a distraction, Go Bears!

What have you wrote this week?  You need to leave a comment and tell us all about your progress and maybe a little about what it is you are working on.  We are all curious as to how your work is coming along.

Are you writing or editing?  Fill us in on what is going on in your world. We would love to hear from you.

I find that rewriting from 1st to 3rd person is not an easy task. It does give you the opportunity to add more details, but it is sure easy to miss something and leave an I or my in there.

One question for you: Do you use the tag said or do you asked, if it is a question?

It seems that there may be two trains of thoughts on this. I have seen both in books on writing, but like one said, said is a word that people will just read over. Where asked, makes them stop to go back over the question.

What is your feeling on this?  Leave a comment below and let everyone know how you do it.

That is about all I have for this week.  Time for bed again, a never ending story that is for sure.

Until later,

John

Tomorrow starts another year of working for the government for more days now than we used to have to work before the money stayed with us.

This school year will be different by all means.  With the new MacBook computers, there will be a lot of explaining and teaching (by both teachers and students) on how to do something with these new computers.

Last night on Facebook, one of my students told me how to get to a special effect for changing a picture. I had used that effect last week when we had our two days of training, but could not remember yesterday when my grandson wanted to use it.

On the writing front, I placed All in the Family Cruise up on Smashwords.com as a free download.  So far 90 copies have been downloaded. Do you have yours? http://tinyurl.com/3qtcmhw

Dreamer's Paradise cover is finished, but I asked for a change in the color scheme. Hopefully, that will be completed today and I can get it uploaded to Amazon and Smashwords.

They are still working on She Rises at Dawn to get the perfect picture to depict the story, which is set in Chicago. This is the longest and last short story that I will be posting as an eBook.

Writing time will be more limited now with going back to work, but I must find the time somewhere to get back on the revisions of the two novels.

Hope you have a great week and enjoy the weather while you can, as we all know that cold stuff will be here before we know it and everyone will want the summer back.

Feel free to leave a comment. It seems that either no one wants to comment or the comment section is not working.  Surely, someone has something to say?

Until next time...

John

Hello how was your week?  Leave a comment below telling us what great things happened to you this past week.

My eBook Hollywood Dream is doing great.  So far, 3 Five-Star Reviews. Here are a couple of them:

"After I was done, I was left wanting more. To me thats the sign of a great short story."

"This Kindle book is truly entertaining! It has to be difficult to pack so much action into a short story, but John Poindexter does it beautifully. He keeps the reader riveted and interested from page one. The ending is the kind I enjoy as well; uplifting and satisfying."

I hope they find my new ones coming soon to be just as entertaining.

Speaking of new ones. Here is a link to another one of my stories, All in the Family Cruise. It is in a PDF for your viewing pleasure. Feel free to download it and enjoy.

I am off to complete the last reviews of Dreamer's Paradise and She Rises at Dawn before the covers come in. Which I have been told will be coming "soon".

One more week of vacation and then it is back to school for a long year.

Everyone have great one and please leave a review in the comment section after reading the free selection. Thanks!

John
