Last free week before heading back to another year of school and I can hardly walk.

Sure wish this surgery had been in June like I wanted it. Oh well, it is over at least. Now I just have to get healed where I can walk better. Have a week to do it.

It has been interesting to see so many free books available and being offered via Facebook.

I try to share as many as I can to help out the authors gain more readers for their work.

I hope they would share mine too.

There are all types being offered from sci-fi to erotica. Whatever you like, you can easily find a free eBook on that topic.

Most of them are pretty good. Of course sometimes you do run into one that you wish had more to it. Either you felt it was too short or just didn't cover enough of the story line to get you satisfied.

I read one last week called The Deception of Devin Miller by Kelly Martin that was great!

"One month ago, seventeen year old Devin Miller wrecked while intoxicated— or so she’s told by the slightly ticked off blue-eyed boy when she wakes up from a coma. The only thing Devin remembers is the darkness holding her down and the voices-- some happy, some upset, and one very agitated. She can't remember her name, her age, where she lives, or who in the world the blue-eyed boy is. But he knows her and against her better judgment, she offers to pay him for his memories so she can trick the ones closest to her into thinking she's fine."

This is a great book and you should pick up a copy to read. It locks you in to where you don't want to stop reading until you know what is going to happen to her.

Tell us about what you have been reading. We all would like to know what you have found that is good.  Leave a message below about the one you liked with the link to where we can find it.

I am going back to trying to walk again.

See you next time.

Hello again,

Have you ever thought about what we did before cell phones, the Internet and especially Facebook and Twitter?

I really can't list all the things I did as this Blog only gives me 4000 characters. Small I know, but easy to use.

Something I can't understand is why is it that the new trend is to get as many likes to a Facebook page as you can, just to reach the max of 5000?

Does it make you feel really important that you have 5000 followers?

How many do you really know and talk to daily, weekly, or even monthly?

Same on Twitter, every hour I see the same (or nearly the same wording) advertising a book.

Now, yes I do advertise my books but not every hour. That is the reason I got on Twitter and Facebook to use the cheap advertising.

Also, who did you bitch to about all the things people do to you that you don't like before Facebook?

It seems that Facebook is nothing more than a place to tell the world how screwed up your life is.

Why?

Keep personal problems personal.

We don't need to know that you owe such and such company hundreds of dollars in back payments. Or that your "ex" is sleeping with so and so.

Stepping down from the soapbox (as they say).

Now it is your turn. What are your complaints? Below is a link called Comments.

Just click on the word and add your thoughts to the page. It is not hard to do.

Yes, there is a check system where you must enter the code, but that is to keep automated systems from posting.

Feel free to leave your thoughts on these subjects.

Until next time,

John

Hello everyone, hope you all are enjoying the summer.

My friend, M.J. Steven finally published his short story We All Die!

It is on Amazon and Smashwords and only 99 cents.

Great story about a young couple who have a tragic life happening.  It turns into a wild ride, so hang on.

Around here we cut limbs out of the way of my antenna and off the roof. Now maybe the roof will last a little longer without all that crap falling on it.

Still haven't painted the house trim, must move that up on the list. Already have paint, just haven't energy to do it.

So, what have you been up to so far this summer?

We had only two comments last time, how about some more this time.  It is not hard to do.

My book work has been slow, but I hope to speed up the writing soon.

Go below and tell us what you have been doing and will be doing throughout what is left of this summer.

Also, be sure to check out some of the authors on my Facebook page. There are some great ones on there with various type of books published.

Several run contest for free things and books.   Feel free to enter those and like their pages.   You will find several that will fit your reading pleasure.

Until next time,

John

Summer officially arrives next week. Wonder if the cool nights will leave then?

What have you been up to  during all this warm weather?

Been to the beach any?

Planting a garden?

This time it is your turn to fill the comment box with what activities you have been up to lately.

We have our tomatoes in and they are growing. There are some tomatoes on the vines already.  I can’t wait to eat them. There’s nothing better than home grown tomatoes.

My back has been telling me lately why I am considered a disabled veteran.

Here’s a Funny Tale for you.  I went to the VA hospital in Chicago last year for a Cat Scan on my back.

Now the test ( lights on the machine turned on) lasted 20 seconds. (The one down in Knox lasted about fifteen minutes on my head).

Now when I ordered the report, all it stated was what I had told the guy before the 20 second test.

He typed up exactly what I had said about my back and nothing else.

Seems they didn’t want to admit that something was really wrong with it. They may have had to raise my disability level some. God Forbid!

Anyway, my activities evolve around the pain level. Did managed with a lot of help to get basement area cleaned so the electrician can come in to upgrade our electric from 60 amp to 100 amp.

Maybe then the lights won’t dim when the dryer goes on.

Now it is your turn. Go to the comment section and let us all know what you are up to this summer.  Any trips planned?   Whatever it is, let us know.

Until next time,
John

It was nice to interview M.J. Steven and to read the drafts of his new eBook We All Die!

I hope when it comes out that you will enjoy it as much as I have.

Less than two weeks before Summer Break starts.  Yea Rah!

Seems the last half of the year has really dragged.

What are your plans for summer?  Leave a message below and tell us.

I am going to work on the big novels and hope to get them re-written.  I have been pushing them onto the back burner too long.

Of course, another short story would be nice too, but no ideas on that yet.

I do have an article for a journal that I would like to get published. Hopefully, I can find a University magazine to publish it. It is about whether Edgar Allan Poe is demonic or not.

Some of my summer will be with the grandkids of course, and the nine-month old one is starting to get more active. It should be fun and a distraction from writing.

The sun is out, the temp is in the 80's, so this will be short.

Please write us and let us know what you plan to do this summer.  Maybe you will give someone an idea that they had not thought of and make their summer for them.

Until next time, I look forward to reading what your plans are.

John

PS:  She Rises at Dawn is doing great in sales for Kobo.  I would like to see some more sales here in the U.S.A.  Thanks!
