Five weeks and two days left in this year.  Where did it all go?

I find it hard to believe that another year is almost over. Did you get done what you want to do this year?  I sure didn't.

I did publish some eBooks and have one more to go out, hopefully, before Christmas. But, I didn't get the novel re-written like I wanted to do.

It seems that there is less and less time to do any writing. I know, you must make time, but even that is hard to do.

Writing is hard even when you are sitting there typing or hand writing on that story.

It is just you and that blank sheet of paper or white screen. No one is pushing you, unless you have an agent or publisher that is hounding you to get that novel done because the deadline is coming.

Barrie Davenport said it best in the article Write to Serve: Giving Deeper Purpose to Your Craft. "Writing can be a lonely business. When it's just you and your fingers tapping away at your keyboard, it's hard to visualize your readers out there and how your words will impact them. Writers spend a lot of time worrying about deadlines and content and sources of inspiration. It can be a very self-focused activity where the rewards often appear long after the work is finished."

But, if you want to get it finished, you just have to sit your butt in the chair and type/write.

With Thanksgiving over and only these five weeks left, if you want to finish this year, you need to get it in gear. I know I do.

How was your Thanksgiving?  We had the whole family here.

Did you go Black Friday shopping?

We would love to hear how you did and what your plans are for the holidays.

Just leave a message below and tell us.  For some reason, the message system must seem hard, but it isn't really. As no one wants to leave a message.

So, come on!  Leave a message and tell us what is going on in your world.

Until next time, I wish you well.

Hello and how it is going with you?

I was able to get some writing done the other day. I am now on page 99 and ready to start chapter 15.

Hopefully, I will get back to it before long.

How are you doing in this current cold spell? I, for one, am hoping that it will warm back up.

Sure don't want any of the white stuff falling.

A few lines from the new work:

She responded as if she hadn't been kissed in a long time, with a long, hard kiss.

They moved from the whirlpool to the bedroom and just as they got into bed, the phone rang.

Later on:

"If it's our relationship that you're worried about, it'll work. I love you damn it," she said with a hurt look in her eyes.

Even later:

He rolled over to get some sleep and quickly learned that sleep was the last thing on her mind.

What are you writing on? Leave us a message and let us all know how you are doing.

It would be nice to hear from some of you. The comment system down below is easy to use.

I must get back to work, so until next time stay warm.

It sure has gotten cold fast.  We have had temps down to 25 at night.

Have been doing a lot of thinking about the next steps in the novel. Now I need to find the time to sit down and write for awhile.

Are you ready for winter?  Leave a message letting us know your plans for wintertime.

This week I would really love to see some comments from you the readers letting us all know what you are up to. Whether it is your own writing or just something that you are doing we might be interested in.

Keeping this short as life is in the way, but please do take over and leave some comments for us to read.

Believe me we will read them and someone might even respond.

Have a great week and I will see you again, hopefully, soon.

John

Natalie Kate
Sorry, but this is going to be short this week.

No new news on the book front. But, Monday night was the arrival of our new granddaughter Natalie Kate.

Our youngest son Patrick and his wife Ashley had their lovely daughter. She weighed 6.6 and 19 inches long.

Everyone is very pleased with our new arrival.  Very beautiful, I must say.

You can bet she will be spoiled just as much as the older two grandchildren.

I am still trying to recuperate, but it is not coming along to well.  By the time I get home from work, I am dead to the world.  Just glad my job is not a physical type of work. Of course mental work is just as hard at times.

This is your week to leave all the news in your world down in the comment area. It is not hard to leave one.

So tell us what you have been up to or what you will be up to.  We would really like to know.

Until next week

John

Hello and welcome to another version of what is on my mind.

Week two of the post-op period is a little better, but still very painful. Thanks to pain pills I can move around for a little bit.

I was wondering how many of you collect free eBooks?

There are a lot of them out there. I believe it was two blogs ago that I posted several places to go to get free books.  In the past week, I have picked up close to 100 free eBooks.

They are in every category possible in both fiction and non-fiction.  If you are not collecting them, you are losing out on a lot of good books.

Most of them are for Kindle and even if you don't own a Kindle, you can download an App from Amazon for the computer, either pc or Mac. And read away.

Leave a message and let us know if you collect free books and how many you have.

We would love to know.

Right now I am reading a book titled GOTU- A Robin Marlette Novel by Mike McNeff.

So far (on chapter 9) it is an action-packed story.

I am up to 184 books and will be still looking for more tomorrow.  They are not hard to find.

Facebook posts several. If you are not a friend of mine on Facebook, just ask and then you can see the posts as well. They usually show up on my wall.

The Big News this week is that I received my first Royalty Check.  Now I will have to sell more books to get another one, hopefully it won't take as long as it did for this one to get sent out.

They will only send them out after 75.00 dollars worth is sold. Then only at the end of a quarter, really it turns out to be about a month after the quarter.

Best part was they went ahead and added the money collected in that month they were processing checks. So, mine was way more than the 75 minimum.

Okay, let us know how many eBooks you have and if you feel like sharing where you get them do that as well.

Time for me to take a pill and bed.

Until next time,

John
