Yes, two weeks and school starts again. Ugh!  Hope I live to see it.

I went from the back pain to a respiratory problem that doesn't seem to be getting better just worse. Medicines are not cutting it.

The remodeling is still not done. We decided to go ahead and use the tongue and groove paneling for the walls. It is different than what we put on the ceiling but the same color.  Wow! The cost of remodeling has shot up to almost the limit of the budget. I don't foresee have any left over for another job.

The new picture window has been ordered and will take three to four weeks to get here. Then we wait for the installer to make time to do that.

I have been trying to read Joseph Finder's Vanished, but just don't have the time to sit and read it all at once.  It seems to be interesting as I want to get back to it to see what is going on.

He has several out and they are all great reads.  Check him out. I am sure you will find them to be good.

After getting the first three chapters on the novel re-written, I have not had the time to do any more.  I must get back to that too, as I really wanted it done this summer, but that is not going to happen now maybe by Christmas.

I guess I should look for another place for the Blog as this site doesn't give you much room, so no pictures can be posted with the entry.  I would post a picture of the room we are remodeling if it would allow it.

Okay enough about me, how about you?  What have you been up to?

Leave us a comment on how summer has been treating you. We would love to hear from you.

Until next time,

John

July is supposed to be the hottest month and yet we have nights in the 60's.  Next Tuesday is supposed to be 68 for a high. Not really a hot summer, but a lot better than last winter.

They say trouble always hits in three's, but here it has hit in four's.  First we find the shower leaking (for quite some time). It has been replaced with an even better one. Then we find the picture window broken (still not replaced). The car was next. Four new tires fix it. Now the refrigerator's water line will not work.

To top it all off, while working on the remodeling of the shower room, my back, which I hurt back in 1976 while serving in the Air Force, decided to go out really bad. So far it has taken three trips to the Chiropractor. Now only the neck is killing me. And then next week I believe it is I get to go see if I do have the big "C".

So, guess you could say we have been hit by the six's instead of the three's.

Been doing a lot of reading lately to help me decide how to fix the story I am writing. Guess, I will be back working on that for several hours a day before long.

What have you been up to lately?  Is anyone doing anything wonderful this summer?

Leave a message below and let us all know what is going on in your life.  It really is not too hard to leave a message.

Almost 1800 people read the last Blog, so there are many who would be interested in what you have to say.

Until next time,

John

I can't believe that June is almost over already. These past two weeks have really flown by fast.

We now have the shower in and working.  Found out that 12 sq feet of the floor under the old one was rotted out and had to be replaced, that was a little more than I thought would need to be repaired.

I have about half of the ceiling done with the tongue and groove paneling. We also installed the new light today.

I still have not figured out what to do with the walls yet.  One says paint, one says paneling of some sort. Of course, I said it is unique. Let's leave it as it is.

No one thought was a good idea. Of course, they knew I was kidding.

Then it will be the floor and how to cover it. Linoleum has been mentioned and probably is the easy way of going.

I will be happy to get this room finished and have some time to work on the novel and use my Amateur Radio. Of course, then we will most likely start with the next project. We have a window that needs replaced, not just the glass, but the whole window.

Okay it is your turn, please leave a message below telling us all what you are up to this summer.  We would love to hear from some of you.

Don't be bashful; tell us what is keeping you active.

Back to work.

Until next time.

Sorry it has taken so long for me to get back to this and write something. There is a lot going on lately.  Now that school is out for the summer, it is time to do the remodeling of the rooms that are schedule for this summer.

The project is a new make-over of the laundry/shower room. We are putting in a new shower that will be bigger and hopefully not leak like the current one. The big problem with the leak is the water is getting into the filter box of the furnace. Not cool! We spent today putting in the tongue and groove paneling boards on the ceiling and are about a fourth of the way through.

With a house that was built in 1890's, it seems there is always something that needs to be repaired. The stairs will be the next big project. Not looking forward to that one.

I am hoping to get all this done in a couple of weeks so I can do some writing.

What are your plans for the summer?  Leave a message below and tell us what you are going to do.

I really would like to get the re-write of the novel finished this summer, it has been taking too long and needs to be done so I can go on to the second one and re-write it as well.

Of course, when the youngest granddaughter is here, writing is hard to do. But, as anyone with kids or grandkids knows, they take preference. She will be two in August and is very active. It is funny how she will try to talk to you but you can't understand a thing she says.  Oh, she does speak some words, but most is gibberish.

Okay, now it is your turn. We all want to know what is going on with you and how well you are doing. Just leave a message down below and tell us what is going on.

Until next time, enjoy the warm weather and have fun.

John

Another snow is being called for tomorrow, March 29.  This is really getting hard to handle.

A couple of days here and there of warmer weather and then bang, the cold weather is back. Is this going to be the trend for the summer?

I remember back in the early seventies we had a really cold summer. Even on the 4th of July when the little boat motor I had quit working and I had to get out and push the boat back to the shore. My girlfriend at that time (wife now) was so mad because it was so cold and the water kept splashing over the side of the boat.

I sure hope that this summer is not like that one.  I can't imagine anyone complaining this summer because it is too hot, if it gets hot. Not after this winter, the second worse one in history.

This week was spring break.  My sister came up and stayed the week. It was nice to have her for a while, as we hadn't seen each other in over a year.

I was able to sneak away from the ladies for some time to get on the Amateur Radio. I acquired over 50 contacts with people all over the world, so far this week. Still have tomorrow to finish the week. Could make more tomorrow as there is a contest on the air to see how many you can contact in a 48 hour period.

When I was younger (much younger like 35 years ago) I would stay up for the whole 48 hours and operate. I can't seem to do that anymore. It is hell getting old.

Out of the more than 50 places where I spoke to someone, here are some of the more exotic ones: Chatham Island, Providencia, Andaman Island, Austral Islands, Israel, Faroe Islands, and the British Virgin Islands.

No writing this week. Shame on me, I must try to make some time to work that soon.

Okay people, there is a Comment box down below for you to tell us what you are doing in your life.

It is not hard to fill out and put a little code in to verify your comment.

Please leave us some messages to read, as we would like to know what is going on with you.

There are around 2000 that check this Blog and surely some of you have something to share.

Until next time,

John
